WE BID A FOND FAREWELL TO A MAINSTAY OF THE MAIN OFFICE
Mrs. Pogany, a long time member of the Main Office is retiring as of this Friday!
Say it ain't so! She has been here 29-1/2 years - she joined the school waaaaaaaay back in 1988!
Although it pains us to think of the office without her, we know she has good times ahead! She will be spending more time with her grandchildren, and her husband.

We say best wishes for a happy life and we will miss you terribly Mrs. Poges!!
BOWLING ACROSS THE CURRICULUM, SPONSORED BY THE NHMS PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPT!
The Physical Education Department is looking for sponsors to donate to our new program, Bowling Across the Curriculum. The information on this program and the donation site is; donorschoose.org. We thank you in advance for your support - Nathan Hale P.E. Department
We congratulate Ms. Folchetti and Mr. DeVito for their innovative programs they have designed to get our students moving, which have won national recognition! Please consider a donation to make her next program happen! We would need 40 donations of $25.00 to make this a reality!

For the "Bowling Across the Curriculum" program, (as of 12:00pm Tuesday) we are currently $891.00 away from our goal! Can you help us? THE DEADLINE IS FAST APPROACHING - JANUARY 2, 2018!!
A big thank to to the families and staff members who have contributed to this project - The Bosch Family, the Raleigh Family, the Minichini Family, as well as our own Mrs. Olson, Ms. Risolo, Mrs. McGahern, Mrs. Dolan, Mrs. Bryk, and former teacher Mrs. Pair. The Mount Family, The Francis/Miller Family, The DiLauro Family, The Kyle Family, The Marquez/Cruz Family, the Kydes Family, and staff members Mr. Louis Jackson, Ms. Kathy Gamcsik, Mrs. Mercedes Tomasi, and Mrs. Kathy Lanzaro, as well as an anonymous donor.

We thank recent community donors: The Mitchell/DeNardo Family

Here is more about the program from Ms. Folchetti, as it appears on the donorschoose.org site.

My students need help in Math and Science skills, and bowling will help provide that avenue.

My Students:
My students are fantastic. They are eager, enthusiastic, and full of energy. Unfortunately, we lack the resources and money to provide our students with innovative and unique opportunities in Physical Education classes. We are in inner city school and our students come from a wide range of economic and cultural backgrounds. Through the unique characteristics of the sport of bowling, my students will be able to work on closing the achievement gap, by practicing and strengthening their math and science skills.

My Project:
Having bowling as unit in Physical Education class will strengthen my students physics, social mental and emotional well-being.

If I had to fund raise for any and all equipment that I need for this project, my students would have to wait for a very long time before I would be able to raise the money for this bowling equipment.

By having access to these ten bowling set/equipment, my students will learn etiquette, strengthen their upper body muscles, work on their math and science skills (additional, probability, statistics, physics), as well as hopefully, learn a life-time sport that they can enjoy and continue to participate throughout their life, and perhaps their family's life.
This donation cycle ends on January 2, 2018, so please donate and make Ms. Folchetti's program a reality!

Reminder to parents - if your child calls you to bring lunch or any other item to school, remind them to come to the office on their own between classes to see if the item has been dropped off. We will call students down between classes if possible, but we expect students to come on their own to check. We have outlined this in our NHMS Info Book if you need further reference. Thank you.

Please note that we do not allow parents to order food to be delivered to their child at school.
You can personally drop off food for your child, but we will not accept deliveries from local restaurants. The delivery drivers will be turned away. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please note, bus passes will be checked every day - morning and afternoon
Students must have a pass to ride the bus.

Students who have lost a pass can get a new pass from the Main Office for $1.00 and must come first thing in the morning. Passes cannot be replaced on demand at the end of the day. Please ensure your child has their pass in a safe place. We recommend placing the bus pass inside the clear sleeve of your child's binder, that way, they don't have to take it out.
